Looking for an elegant starter for your Rosh Hashanah meal? This kosher salmon pâté is creamy, zesty, and easy to prepare ahead of time. Serve it with matzah, challah, or crisp vegetables for a light, flavourful beginning to your festive meal.

Ingredients
300g cooked salmon fillet (grilled, poached, or baked)
1 Tbsp olive oil OR parev mayonnaise
1 small shallot or ½ small onion, very finely diced
Juice of ½ lemon
1 tsp Dijon mustard (kosher-certified)
2 Tbsp fresh parsley chopped
1 Tbsp capers (optional, rinsed)
Salt & black pepper, to taste
Optional garnish: dill, cucumber, radish, or pomegranate seeds
Method
Flake the cooked salmon into a bowl with a fork.
Stir in olive oil/mayo, shallot, lemon juice, mustard, parsley, and capers.
Season with salt and pepper.
Chill for at least 1 hour before serving.
Garnish and serve with matzah, crackers, or challah.
